Favorite Bike Rides

Gobbler's Knob - near Harrison, OH
This is another favorite ride of ours.  Is there such a thing as a bad ride?  38 miles of lightly traveled county roads with one huge hill.  Park at the VFW and ride through downtown Harrison.  Head North  on New Biddinger, Carolina Trace, Drewersburg, Sharptown and Johnson Fork Rds. to Mount Carmel.  Head West on 252 to Big Cedar road that runs into Cedar Grove.  There is a gas station that has drinks and snacks.  Cross the abandoned highway bridge over the Whitewater river, turn Right  and gear way down for Gobbler's Knob hill.  Turn West on St. Peters for a nice long down hill run.  Turn South on Barber road for a quiet ride along the Whitewater.  Turn West on 46, South on Whites Hill Rd.  and then East on Pinhook Rd.

Laughery Creek - near Aurora, IN
This is a favorite ride of ours. A rolling 35 mile route with very little traffic. There are times when we see maybe a dozen cars and it seems not much has changed since they brought electicity in and paved the roads. Park at the restored historic iron bridge just off 56. The route follows the creek with a couple of small hills like a roller coaster. As you cross the creek at Bell's Branch there is the one rough hill towards Bear branch. The roads are smoother and there is a fun downhill on the South side of the river. Bring all your water because there are no convenience stores out here.

Tomb Ride - North Bend, OH
This is a great ride with a little of everything; flats, hills, history, industry, nature, awesome views of the Ohio River but very little traffic.  Park and start at the Top Shelf Bar at State Lind Rd. and Stephens.
